Ellen Gregg, who calls Tabernash home, began skiing at age 12 at Buck Hill in Burnsville, Minnesota; the same place Lindsay Vonn got her start (the parallels end there!). She fondly remembers her first pair of skis, Head Standards with Cubco bindings and lace-up boots. Ellen first skied Winter Park and Mary Jane in the spring of 1976, the first season that Mary Jane was open, taking on the challenge of Outhouse right off the bat. After marrying into a family with strong roots in the area, she became a Winter Park/Mary Jane regular and a frequent customer of Alpine Sun Ski Shop. Over the past 30+ years she has skied many of the demos at the shop and owns a pair of Dynastar Glory 84 skis (2016-2017). Her 2020-2021 favorites are the Armada Tantrum 99, Fischer Ranger 90FR, and the Rossi Stargazers. You’ll find her skiing on Forever Eva (Parsenn Bowl Territory), Rainbow Cut (Mary Jane Territory), Little Pierre, and Bradleys Bash (Winter Park Territory).
