In 2018-2019 Alpine Sun Ski Shop added select Icelantic Skis to our men’s and women’s demo fleets. Icelantic, a Colorado company based in Golden, was founded in 2005 by Ben Anderson, Travis Parr and Travis Cook. The founders, along with the current CEO, Annelise Loevlie, are long-time friends who grew up in Evergreen and Idaho Springs. Icelantic is currently the largest company producing skis in North America, having grown at a rate of 30% per year for the past several years. It is truly a Colorado success story!
Icelantic skis, which are playful, lightweight, and forgiving, are distinctive for their bomb-proof construction and their unique artwork. All Icelantic skis have been handmade at the Never Summer company in Denver for over 10 years and carry a “no questions asked” 3-year warranty. The company’s catalogue notes that “Domestic Manufacturing not only supports our local economy, but also allows us to take a hands-on approach to the manufacturing process ensuring that we are consistently offering you the best product.” Alpine Sun Ski Shop carries skis from Freeride, All-Mountain, and Back-Country collections for women and men. Last season, these skis became the favorites of many of the Alpine Sun Ski Shop Team.
The artwork on the skis is created by co-founder and artist, Travis Parr, who collaborates with Design Director Lauren Kwan. Each image is unique to the model on which it is found and reflects an aspect of the company’s motto #Return to Nature through drawings, paintings, wood-block prints, and maps.
