Winter Park Ski Rentals

We’re temporarily closed for the 2024-2025 ski season while our new building is under construction. In the meantime, we are still offering our Demo Skis for Sale and Outerwear & Accessories for sale. We are available by phone or email to assist you with a purchase. For Equipment Rentals, there are several local shops that should be able to accommodate your needs.

The prices listed below are from 2023-2024 ski season, and may change when we reopen in the fall of 2025.

The Child Rental Ski Package includes a fleet rental ski, boots, and poles. The child ski rental rate is for children ages 9 & under.

The Junior Rental Ski Package includes a fleet rental ski, boots, and poles. Alpine Sun Ski Shop is the only ski shop offering a rental rate for children & juniors up to the age of 14. The junior rental rate is for juniors 10-14 years old.

Ski Package #1: Includes a shaped fleet ski, performance boot & poles. Shape skis are by Dynastar, Rossignol, Salomon & Volkl. The four buckle boots are by Salomon and DalBello. The package works well for beginner to advanced intermediate skiers. This is our most popular package.

Ski Package #2: Includes a shaped fleet ski, demo boots & pole. Shaped skis are by Dynastar, Fischer, Rossignol, Salomon & Volkl. This package is for rental customers wanting a higher performance boot. The Demo boots are by Salomon & DalBello. The package works well for intermediate to advanced skiers.

Ski Package #3: Includes a Demo ski and demo boots. Demo skis are by Armada, Dynastar, Fischer, Icelantic, Rossignol, RMU, Salomon, & Volkl. The demo boots are by Salomon & DalBello. The package is for the intermediate to advance skiing wanting to demo skis with a variety of shapes for different conditions and terrain. Our demo fleet includes all mountain skis, powder skis, twin tips, full rocker & more. Our demo rental program allows rental customers to try a different demo ski each day they rent.

Helmet Rental: Helmets for adults, juniors, and children are by Bolle, Pret, & Uvex. Note: All children & juniors under 18 years of age are required to wear a helmet if they will be attending ski or snowboard lessons at Winter Park Resort.

What type of Skier are you?

Alpine Sun Ski Shop wants more than anything for our customers to be safe and have their gear setup correctly for a hassle free day of skiing or boarding so before we can service your equipment or prepare your ski rentals YOU MUST CLASSIFY YOURSELF as skier type 1, 2, or 3. Determining your skier type is your responsibility! Please don’t hesitate to contact us over the phone, in an e-mail, or in person if you have any question about what level you are after reading the descriptions below.

TYPE I SKIERS
“Cautious Skiing at lighter release/retention settings”
* Ski conservatively
* Prefer slower speeds
* Prefer easy, moderate slopes
* Favor lower than average binding release/retention settings.
* Type 1 settings apply to “entry-level skiers uncertain of their classification”

For Type I Skiers we recommend our #1 Package
The #1 Package includes a performance boot by Salomon or DalBello, fleet skis by Dynastar, Rossignol, Salomon, or Volkl & poles.

TYPE II SKIERS
“Moderate Skiing at average release/retention settings”
* Ski moderately
* Prefer a variety of speeds
* Ski on varied terrain, including most difficult trails
* Type 2 are all skiers who do not meet all the descriptions of either Type I or Type III

For Type II Skiers we have our #2 Package (Note: Our Demo package or Package #1 works well for Type II skiers)
The #2 Package includes a demo boot by Salomon or DalBello, fleet skis by Dynastar, Rossingnol, Salomon, or Volkl & poles.

TYPE III SKIERS
“Aggressive Skiing at higher release/retention settings”
* Ski aggressively
* Normally ski at high speeds
* Prefer steeper and more challenging terrain
* Favor higher than average release/retention settings

The #3 Package includes a demo boot by Salomon or DalBello, high performance Demo skis by Armada, Dynastar, Rossignol, Salomon, or Volkl & poles.
